I used cheapo $20.00 rice cooker for 10 years (before it died)and it cook dinnered good rice. Coconut rice, rice with broth, with vegies in it and so on..., no problem. The Cuisinart stopped cook dinnering before all of the liquid was long gone. It also boils like loopy. I assume the issue is that the insert is tall and slender. Generally in most rice prepare dinnerers the insert is wider than it is tall. This is a poorly designed computing device and for sure not price the price tag.
